The upcoming 2023-24 edition of La Liga in Spain is about to commence. It is to feature the prominent presence of both Barcelona, the reigning champion, and Real Madrid.

The initial matchday is set for the weekend of August 11, 12, and 13.

Barcelona had bid farewell to Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba at the conclusion of the previous season.

It has restructured under the guidance of Xavi Hernández, aiming to once again seize the spotlight.

A notable acquisition during the summer transfer window is Manchester City‘s star player, Ilkay Gündogan.

The experienced Iñigo Martínez, the promising Oriol Romeu, and the exciting Vitor Roque, who is expected to join in January from Athletic Paranaense, have also joined the ranks.

Additionally, returning from their loan spells, Abde, Lenglet, and Sergiño Dest have rejoined the team.

Departures include not only Busquets and Alba but also Samuel Umtiti, Pablo Torre, Álex Collado, Chadi Riad, Nico González, and Julian Araujo.

Fran García and Joselu have also joined the ranks of the White House, while Brahim Díaz and Antonio Blanco have returned from their loan spells. Rafa Marín has been promoted from Castilla.

In terms of departures, Real Madrid will showcase a rejuvenated lineup. It is marked particularly by the exits of the legendary Karim Benzemá to Ittihad and Marco Asensio to PSG.
