Mandy Moore’s Heartfelt Revelation: Her Son Gus Battles Rare Gianotti Crosti Syndrome

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Mandy Moore, the renowned American singer, songwriter, and actress, shared the news of her two-year-old son Gus’ health condition.

The little boy woke up with a red rash on his body, leading to several medical consultations before finally receiving a diagnosis of Gianotti-Crosti syndrome.

Mandy Moore’s Instagram post revealed her son Gus woke up with an unusual rash on his legs, feet, and the backs of his arms.

Concerned about its origin, the family explored various possibilities, including eczema flare, poison oak, or an allergy.

After seeking medical advice from various professionals, Gus was diagnosed with Gianotti-Crosti syndrome.

This rare childhood skin condition is characterized by a papular rash with blisters on the skin of the legs, buttocks, and arms. The rash can last from a minimum of 10 days to several weeks.

Though there is no specific cure for Gianotti-Crosti syndrome, the symptoms can be managed.

The prescribed treatment includes using a steroid cream and providing relief with Benadryl at night. The syndrome is usually viral in nature but did not accompany a cold in Gus’ case.

Mandy Moore shared that throughout the ordeal, Gus remained resilient and carried on with his day as if nothing was amiss.

His spirit and smile during this challenging time left a lasting impression on his mother and all those who heard their story.

The singer-actress expressed that parenting can be both weird and hard, especially when faced with health challenges for her children.

However, she emphasized her gratitude that Gus’s condition was limited to an itchy skin condition, reminding herself of the resilience kids possess.

Throughout the journey, Mandy Moore and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, stood by their son’s side, providing love, support, and the necessary medical attention.

Their commitment to ensuring Gus’s well-being is a testament to their dedication as parents.

Mandy Moore and Taylor Goldsmith are proud parents of two sons, Gus and Oscar “Ozzie” Bennett Goldsmith.

Gus, whose full name is August “Gus” Harrison, was born on Feb. 20, 2021, while Ozzie was born in October 2022.

The couple’s love and care extend to both their little ones.

From her debut single “Candy” to her various albums and acting roles, Moore’s talent has earned her accolades and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
